Important Information about HostYourSite

BizLand Inc. recently purchased many of HostYourSite's assets and will soon be managing the HostYourSite.com website and reseller program.

HostYourSite.com will continue to operate as a separate hosting service. We will continue to support and maintain the pricing of existing hosting plans.

We are in the process of upgrading the HostYourSite hosting and reseller platforms and migrating all shared-hosting accounts to the new platforms.

We will need your support to make this transformation successful. Please keep an eye out for email communications that will keep you abreast of changes you'll need to make to the websites you manage.

Please review the following information carefully.

Better Commissions
We are making some big improvements on the HostYourSite reseller platform. The new commission structure allows you to receive more commissions without having to pay an annual fee!

Updating Your Reseller Website
Existing pages describing HostYourSite plans are no longer working. To create your new pages, you will need to visit Custom Formatting to create your new marketing pages and upload your logo. Until you create these new pages, you will not be able to accept any new clients.

You also need to update your pricing. To do this, please visit Edit Pricing from within the Reseller Console to generate the pricing for your packages. If you do not make any changes, these will remain at the HostYourSite minimum prices.

Control Panel Changes for Clients
We have launched a new client control panel, called the Members Area, on AccountSupport.com. The Members Area will give your clients access to the tools they need to manage their hosting accounts (domain names, traffic statistics, file management, etc.). Upon completion of the Custom Formatting page, the branding in the Members Area will reflect your business.

Uploading/CGI Changes
CGI: Because we are changing the directory structure on the servers, we will automatically update the absolute path to your files and make every effort to convert your scripts to the correct paths.

If you discover a pathname issue, you can view the correct path by clicking the "CGI Management" link in the Members Area. You'll need to correct your path in the source code. Be sure to use this path for any new scripts you create as well.

Compiled C: HostYourSite will no longer be able to support Compiled C CGI programs.

Email Settings
Your email accounts should not be affected by the migration. If you have difficulty with a POP box, please confirm that is confirgured with the following settings. If you need additional assistance, please contact HostYourSite Technical Support.

Web email settings
Web mail can be accessed through your custom reseller splash pages and the Members Area.

Using Outlook 2000
  • Open the "Tools" tab at the top.
  • Go to "Services".
  • Select "Internet Email" and click "Properties".
  • Click "Servers".
  • Your Incoming mail should be "pop.domain.com".
  • Your Outgoing mail should be "smtp.accountsupport.com"
  • "ACCOUNT NAME" IS THE FIELD YOU NEED TO UPDATE. REPLACE YOUR FORMER POP BOX NAME WITH THE NAME WE PROVIDED YOU.
  • Your password will be the password for your hosting account (unless you have specified something different).
  • The "My Server Requires Authentication" box should be selected.
  • Click "Settings". Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". Click "Ok".
Using Outlook Express
  • Open the "Tools" tab at the top.
  • Go to "Accounts".
  • Click "Mail".
  • Select the "Account" you need to update.
  • Click "Properties".
  • Click "Servers".
  • "My Incoming Server" should be set to "POP3"
  • Your Incoming mail should be "pop.accountsupport.com".
  • Your Outgoing mail should be "smtp.accountsupport.com"
  • "ACCOUNT NAME" IS THE FIELD YOU NEED TO UPDATE. REPLACE YOUR FORMER POP BOX NAME WITH THE NAME WE PROVIDED YOU.
  • Your password will be the password for your hosting account (unless you have specified something different).
  • The "My Server Requires Authentication" box should be selected.
  • Click "Settings". Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". Click "Ok".
Using Eudora
  • Select the "Personality Name" for POP account you are checking.
  • Click "Next".
  • You do not need to update your "Name" here. Click "Next".
  • "ACCOUNT NAME" IS THE FIELD YOU NEED TO UPDATE. REPLACE YOUR FORMER POP BOX NAME WITH THE NAME WE PROVIDED YOU.
  • Incoming Server should be set to "pop.accountsupport.com". Make sure "POP" is selected. Click "Next".
  • Your SMTP settings should be "smtp.accountsupport.com".
  • Click "Next".
  • Click "Finish".

We have changd the Terms of Service for HostYourSite. By using the new HostYourSite.com private-label platform, you will be agreeing to abide by these Terms on behalf of yourself and your clients. Please review the new Terms of Service carefully.

COMMISSION GENERATED BEFORE THE MIGRATION
Any agent/reseller commissions generated before the official migration to the new platform are the responsibility of the previous owners of HostYourSite.com.
